Beware of Potential Fraud
Attorneys General have previously received reports of scammers attempting to take advantage of homeowners under similar settlements. Scammers claiming to be representatives of parties offering relief under such settlements contacted homeowners in an attempt to get those homeowners to disclose personal information, such as bank account numbers and Social Security numbers.
